For people wishing to live and work in the U.S.A.

This section deals with the most common types of residency that are given to non-Americans. It details the steps that one would go through to become a permanent resident or citizen of the United States of America. Please click on the appropriate section to go to the proper area.

Family-sponsored immigrants: this sections talks about applying for family members (for example: marriage between a U.S. citizen and foreign person).	Employment-based immigrants (1st through 5th Preference): These are foreign workers for which a company can apply for permanent residence.
Diversity Immigrants (DV Program): use this link if you have won in the Diversity Immigrants Lottery ("visa lottery").	Refugees, Asylees, and TPS: foreigners who are in fear of persecution may find protection in the United States.
